About Linkwork
Linkwork is a Google Chrome extension App for social, collaborative and interactive web browsing. It enables instant sharing of visiting pages and previewing other's browsing webpages in real-time. It provides a new way for friends and coworkers to collaboratively browse the web on a topic of interest and discuss.
We take your privacy seriously and only use personal information to make Linkwork work best for you.
Our Privacy Principles
Linkwork extension is fully compliant with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Here are a few key points about Linkwork's privacy practices:
- We use user account information to provide our services, to communicate about existing and new Linkwork features, and to comply with our terms and applicable laws.
- We collect user's browsing data only when user is in a room and display the collected data in the Linkwork bar and chat window of other participants in that room to preview.
- We do not sell personal information.
- We don't transfer user data to serve users personalized, re-targeted, or interest-based advertisements.
- All user data are transferred encrypted and stored in our servers anonymously.
Personal Information We May Collect
Here’s a description of the categories of information we collect when you interact with our App, and examples of how we use the specific types of information. We may collect:
- Account data, such as your Gmail account address, first and last name, profile picture, preferred language when signed up using your Google account.
- Chrome tab info that users visit while in Linkwork rooms. We temporarily record the links and webpages metadata (title, description, and preview image) shared in a room until 6 hours after room end. These data are deleted unless a user or our automated system flags a Trust and Safety violation within 6 hours after room end. In those cases, we retain data for the purposes of investigating the incident, and then delete it when the investigation is complete.
- Users can exclude domains that don't want pages with links in them to be shared in rooms.
- We only record the visiting tab links that are shared and do not record all tabs links or links when sharing is paused.
- If room moderator selects "Generate report", the room messages will be kept in the servers and displayed in the report page.
- Messages you send to and receive from other users on the App. We review the contents of these messages only if there are user reports within 6 hours after room end or automated systems flags indicating a Trust and Safety violation. All message are deleted 6 hours after room end unless the "Generate report" option is enabled by the moderator.
- Usage, and connections, including information about how you use the App, such as features you use, actions you take, people or accounts you interact and connect with, and the time, frequency, and duration of your use.
- Communications that we exchange with users when they contact us with questions or feedback, including feedback about interacting with other users.
- Device data, such as device IP address (and derived location), operating system, the date and time of App use, interactions with the App, and the time, frequency, and duration of the interactions.
