Hi Marianna,
– Overall, the tracks are reasonably well-marked, but I recommend studying the route in advance and having a phone map with you. Sometimes, the marks can get a little confusing, as I mentioned in this article.
– Getting lost shouldn’t be an issue unless you venture in without any knowledge of the path whatsoever. Generally, the trails are well-maintained, so the worst-case scenario is you make a wrong turn. Again, it’s best to have a map app on your phone, such as Mapy.cz or Maps.me.
– You can only camp in designated campsites, of which there aren’t many. Wild-camping is prohibited. There are articles online that list the campsites, for example: https://www.wearecravingadventure.com/blog/camping-in-triglav-national-park/
– Is we’re talking about 7 Valley Hike specifically, then yes, you can exit in a different location than you entered. In the “Extending the Hike” section I link an article on climbing Triglav. Check it out, as it has a map with various trailheads that you can use as your exit point.
Or, when doing a day hike, you can exit via the second Ukanc trailhead of the hike.

Just some questions please.
Are the tracks well marked?
Is it easy to get lost?
Can I camp using my equipment while there?
To go back to civilization do I have to hike back or I can go from one end to another and finish into another village without going back?

Of course doing this on 3-4days .

Thanks

Hi Kobeke, thanks for reaching out. I have to say up front that I don’t have kids, so take my advice with a grain of salt. That said, I’m pretty sure I have seen children on that hike, at least on its initial section before the Double Lake.

Overall, to me, the main difficulty of this hike is its length. It is never too steep or difficult (except the descent towards the Double lake when taking a shorter route – that one is quite steep), it’s just long and relentless. So I would say that if your children are somewhat used to rocky areas and enjoy hiking as an activity, it should be possible to do in 2 or three days.

Of course, you’ll still have to cover 10-14 km per day over rocky terrain, so you’ll have to judge your kids’ physical ability a bit. I hope this helps.

We are planning to go to Triglav this summer, and your blog is a great source of information. On our list of hikes is the seven lakes hike. However, I was wondering whether it wouldn’t be too difficult for children (we have two daughters of 7 and 9 coming with us). Of course, it depends on their physical condition and experience. We are beginners, but not totally unexperienced as well. We already did a several day hikes in rocky/mountainous area’s. Of course, I would make it a multiple day hike, maybe even 3 instead of 2 days. I still have to check the distances between the hut to see whether or not this is possible. Do you think doing it in 2 or 3 days would be possible with children?
