Thanks, that’s a very good reminder indeed! Definitely an easy way to mess up the holiday start (or worse) if you’re not paying attention. Luckily, you get used to driving on the left quite quickly.
And thanks for the compliment! I’m sure I haven’t seen half of what you have living there, but I’m flattered nonetheless. Then again, it’s just human nature to somewhat disregard what’s closest to us. I think I’ve seen more of New Zealand in two weeks than of my own country in two years!

You’ve seen more of the South Island than I have, and I live in NZ!
A word of caution – arrive Christchurch, grab the rental car, and remember to drive on the LEFT. Tired tourists who forget this have a very short holiday.
